When we cannot see everything, we see nothing
Water consumption is not the only factor to be reduced to make a pair of jeans eco-conceived. On average, fine particle emissions represent around 30% of the overall environmental impact of a pair of jeans, which takes into account 16 impact categories, including greenhouse gas emissions, which account for around 20%. One of the reasons for this in many production countries is the electrical energy used, which is generated by thermal power stations (coal/oil) emitting very high levels of fine particles.
